2. What this guide is for

This document tells you who we are, what we do, how we are paid, and what to do if you are unhappy with our service. We are required to give it to you before we provide credit assistance.

3. What we do

We provide credit assistance: we suggest or assist you to apply for a credit contract with a credit provider, or to increase the limit of an existing contract. Depending on the product and your circumstances, we may also provide credit to you directly as the credit provider. Where that is the case, we will tell you clearly, in writing, before you enter into anything.

We arrange finance for personal, vehicle, property, business, equipment, heavy vehicle and marine purposes.

4. Our obligations to you

Where we provide credit assistance in relation to a consumer credit contract, the law requires us to make reasonable inquiries about your requirements and objectives, make reasonable inquiries about your financial situation, and take reasonable steps to verify that financial situation. We must not suggest, assist with, or enter into a contract that is unsuitable for you.

A contract is unsuitable if you could not comply with the financial obligations without substantial hardship, or if it does not meet your requirements and objectives. If you are required to sell your principal place of residence to meet the repayments, the law presumes substantial hardship unless the contrary is proved.

You may request a written copy of our assessment of suitability at any time before entering the contract, and for up to seven years afterwards. We must provide it free of charge. If you request it before the credit day, we must give it to you before then.

These obligations apply to consumer credit. They do not apply to lending that is wholly or predominantly for business or investment purposes.

5. Fees, charges and commissions

Fees payable by you to us

We do not charge you a fee for providing credit assistance. If this changes for a particular transaction, we will disclose the amount, or a reasonable estimate, in writing before providing the assistance.

Commissions we receive

Where a lender on our panel settles a loan arranged through us, that lender generally pays us a commission. The amount varies by lender, product and loan size. It does not change the amount you pay. You may ask us at any time for a reasonable estimate of the commission payable in relation to your loan, and how it is worked out, and we will provide it.

Commissions we pay

We may pay a referral fee to third parties who introduce business to us. Where that applies to your enquiry, we will disclose it.

6. If you have a complaint

Step one — tell us

Email info@aussieloanapply.com with the heading "Complaint", or write to us at Leichhardt NSW 2040, Australia. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond in writing. Under ASIC's Regulatory Guide 271, we must give you a written response within 30 calendar days.

Step two — external dispute resolution

If you are not satisfied with our response, or we do not respond in time, you can take your complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority. AFCA is free to consumers and its decisions are binding on us.
